BURNOUT COACHING

Burnout Coaching

burnout coaching symbolised by two cupsI am an experienced psychotherapist and business psychologist offering therapeutic burnout coaching for yourself or a member of your team. My background means that I can work at an organisational or behavioural level, or a deep therapeutic level, depending on what’s needed.

Once you are on the road to burnout it is difficult to turn back without help. Workplaces often take a lot of blame for this and maybe quite rightly. However,  sometimes we have to admit that we are part of the problem. Expectations of ourselves, failure to set strong boundaries and, quite frankly, unsustainable lifestyles, can all contribute.

Burnout coaching with me

My approach to burnout coaching combines analytical business psychology with evidence based psychotherapy approach and tools and a warm, therapeutic approach. We look at:

  • Uncover the main causes of what’s causing you to burnout

  • Creating a strategic practical way forwards to help you in this

  • Tools that can help you right here and now

  • Support you as you do so, helping you navigate any personal patterns that may draw you back

There isn’t a set formula to this as we work with your own particular set of circumstances, but here’s an example of what a coaching journey might look like.

  • Session One: Looking at the extended factors contributing to your burnout and easy to implement actions you can do right now.

  • Session Two: What internal drivers have helped you end up like this?

  • Session Three: Work on a trauma that may be contributing to an unhealthy work pattern.

  • Session Four: Changing behaviors by creating a roadmap for a new way of showing up.

  • Session Five: Navigating other people and their expectations.

  • Session Six: Making adjustments, assessing for warning signs to help you avoid this state in the future.

Visibility Coaching

Sometimes people are burnt out not because of the work, but the constant need to be visible which is the case in many businesses and professions nowadays. This is often the case if a public profile feels unatural and uncomfortable for you. In this case visibility coaching may be a better fit and the emphasis is on staying seen but also doing so sustainablly. You can find out more here.

Tools and support for burnout

Along the way I’ll share practical tools to help you deal with feelings of anxiety, stress, maybe even depression, and embed more useful behaviours. We will look at your sleep and how you show up for your own physical as well as emotional needs.

Work with me

I work internationally and with individuals and organisations. Sessions are usually online, or can be taken in my therapy room in Folkestone in Kent, or by arrangement in London. You can book in a chat here to discuss next steps.
