BURNOUT WORKSHOPS

Burnout workshops and training

burnout workshops and trainingPaula delivers a number of workshops covering prevention, recognising and recovery. These are available for both online and face to face delivery. Our workshops are listed below, but please contact us for a chat. All workshops here are half a day, but can be paired to create a full day of training.

Burnout in the workplace

Discover what are the main causes of burnout and what can be put in place, both as an organisation and individually, to prevent it. Learn how to spot the early signs of burnout in yourself, team or colleague, and find ways of having those difficult conversations around the topic. This workshop includes an individual burnout assessment to check on your own levels, and also looks at practical real-life strategies to put in place to help recovery.

The personality traits that lead to burnout

There are some very common personality traits or behaviours that can promote burnout, such as perfectionism, people pleasing, and being a high achiever. This workshop looks at the main personality traits that raise your risk and takes you through some practical tools and advice on loosening their hold. This is ideal whether you have spotted these behaviours in yourselves or colleagues, or want to influence a workplace or team culture to create one that’s more sustainable long-term.

Using habits and rituals to minimise the risk of burnout

When we rely on self-discipline to get things done, the risk of burnout grows. Leaning on habits and rituals can free up a lot of cognitive space and reduce the risk of burning out. This workshop concentrates on looking at the differences between the three. It helps people think about their own rituals, self-discipline and habits, and how do we create a habit, or break a negative one.

Make Decision-Making Easier

Decision-making is often a cognitive load that can lead to exhaustion and burnout.

In today’s fast paced world, we have so many small decisions to make.  Do I want a cappuccino or flat white? Should I email or phone that difficult client? It’s no wonder we have little energy or thinking space left for the big, important decisions.

It’s also easy to fall into the trap of always approaching our decision making in the same way when there could be far better ways to tackle it. This workshop:

  • Help you uncover your own decision-making style
  • Show you some powerful decision-making techniques that you can apply to career, business and personal life
  • Get out of the “washing machine” of should I, shouldn’t I?” thinking
  • Get you thinking about making decisions in different ways
  • Understand others’ decision-making styles for better relationships and team dynamics
  • Learn about Risk Typing and how that defines how you unconsciously make decisions
  • Take the opportunity to practise your learning on any real-life decisions with which you may be struggling.
