So many of us live our lives in a whirlwind of activity, some of it necessary, some of it of our own making. Perfectionism, the pressures of living in a late Capitalist society, patterns of approval seeking behaviour, workplace pressures, not feeling good enough, and the fast pace of today’s lifestyles all contribute to create a life that feels relentless for many of us.
It’s no wonder that so many of us are skating perilously close to burnout, if not there already.
Workplaces take a lot of blame for this, and quite rightly, but sometimes we have to admit that we are part of the problem. Our expectations of ourselves, failure to set strong boundaries and, quite frankly, unsustainable lifestyles, can all contribute.
Burnout coaching with me
My approach to burnout coaching combins analytical style business psychology practices with evidence based psychotherapy approach and tools. Together these help:
Uncover the main causes of what’s causing you to burnout
Create a strategic practical way forwards to help ypu in this
Support you as you do so, helping you navigate any personal patterns that may draw you back
There isn’t a set formula to this as we work with your own particular set of circumstances, but here’s an example of what a coaching journey might look like.
Session One: Looking at the extended factors contributing to your burnout and easy to implement actions you can do right now.
Session Two:What internal drivers have helped you end up like this?
Session Three: Work on a trauma that may be contributing to an unhealthy work pattern.
Session Four:Changing behaviors by creating a roadmap for a new way of showing up.
Session Five:Navigating other people and their expectations.
Session Six:Making adjustments, assessing for warning signs to help you avoid this state in the future.
Tools and support for burnout
Along the way I’ll share practical tools to help you deal with feelings of anxiety, stress, maybe even depression, and embed more useful behaviours. We will look at your sleep and how you show up for your own physical as well as emotional needs.
Burnout Coaching programme
A six-session coaching journey with me is £900. Sessions are typically 2-3 weeks apart to allow time to embed new actions and ways of thinking into your life, but ultimately, we go at the pace that suits you.
I work internationally. Sessions are online, or can be taken in my therapy room in Folkestone in Kent, UK.
