Anxiety is on the rise in the workplace and can present via symptoms such as a lack of focus, inability to make decisions, fast heart beat, tightness in the chest, panic attacks, nervousness and physical symptoms like digestive issues. It can also be felt as a general feeling of unease, as though something could go wrong at any time.
Living and working with anxiety is difficult, especially if your job is one where you need to be on the ball all the time, such as PR and comms. The good news is that anxiety is the result of an age-old mechanism that keeps us safe. Once we know that, and how it works, we can learn how to dial down those symptoms and reduce anxiety.
