Beating Burnout Workshop
Many recent mental health surveys in the PR industry have uncovered high levels of stress and burnout. This workshop addresses burnout from both a preventative and recovery point of view. It id invaluable to any workplace where people work under pressure. It looks at:
- What is burnout – what creates it and what are the symptoms, especially those we might be able to spot
- Why the PR industry is so rife with burnout
- What it looks like in real life – an overview of three case studies
- Who is particularly vulnerable?
- An intro to The Human Givens framework and how it can help prevent and ease burnout – including time to ponder your own needs and how they are being met
- How you can help burnout in others as a manager, and how to work with your own symptoms of burnout
- Learnings around how burnout can be catching – how it impacts colleagues due to our mirror neurons, and may even be sensed by clients
There are discussions and time to collaborate to increase ownership of working as an organisation to address burnout. Including:
- Discussion around the three case studies looking at how we might tackle these both as a manager and as a colleague
- Doing your own emotional needs inventory and discussion how you might improve your own areas that are low
- Co-creation of a menu of ideas that can help with burnout, from both an individual and organisational viewpoint. Participants are more likely to adopt and adapt then as they have ownership of ideas.
This is a 3 hr experiential workshop and therefore ideally deliverd face to face. Online is possible, however.
