What You Could Get Out of Being Part of a Mastermind Group
Having run mastermind groups in London and online for the past two years now, I’ve seen so many benefits, including some you may not have expected. Here’s a summary of the some of the gains that my Hot House mastermind members have been experiencing.
1.Accountability
Being part of a mastermind group means making yourself accountable. It’s embarrassing to turn up for sessions when you haven’t done anything, so you get it done. For some, the power of the deadline is the kick that gets them to take action so they can report back to the group and work out their next move.
2. Inspiration
Being a part of a circle of movers and shakers all working towards their own goals or dreams inspires you to think bigger yourself. Watching others make progress makes you want it even more.
3. Feedback
You can use your mastermind group as a mini focus group, giving you feedback on ideas. Will it work? What else do you need to have in place? What’s the best name? Getting other business people’s thoughts on some of the issues you may be wrangling with can help you move forward quicker than you would have done on your own.
4. Friendship
Our mastermind groups are social. These people can and do turn into friends for life. They will commiserate and celebrate with you.
5. Support
Business can be hard. Money issues, staff problems, a pitch gone wrong…all these can take their toll. Working with a group that knows you well can help you brainstorm solutions or ponder for insights, but within an environment that is supportive, understanding and positive
6. Like-minded people
While your partner and friends may be supportive, there comes a point, for the sake of your relationships, when you won’t want to talk about your business to them all the time. What’s more, it’s often wiser to have these sorts of conversations with people who are in a similar situation. Your group will understand the pressures, the excitement and what you’re going through like nobody else!
7. Contacts
A group is more than the sum of its parts. Our groups are generous with their contacts and connect you to the people that can help you. Joining a group instantly grows your network up to five times its previous size.
8. Rhythm
When you are working to a regular timetable of strategy meetings your business takes on a rhythm which is working towards growth. Things will get done every month, rather than in odd stints, and you will find that growth becomes more consistent.
9. Visibility
Whilst many members are here for business goals, my own background in PR and marketing means that I have a unique outlook which can help you raise your profile…whether that’s your own or that of your business.
10. Laughs
We have lots of these. Quite simply, it’s the best way to do business.
